Transplant Day

We will arrive in the time window given and transplant your tree.

Soiling and Mulching your Tree

One of the most important things to do to a newly transplanted tree is add soil and pack that the soil in around the root ball to eliminate any voids left my the spade. Root to soil contact is very important. Next mulch the trees root ball with 2-3" of new mulch. keep mulch 6" away from the base of the trunk. Mulch will help regulate the soil temperature, maintain soil moisture and add organic matter to the soil. Adding Soil and Mulch is something the client can do themselves or ArborCraft can complete this service if preferred.

Watering and Aftercare Instruction

We will provide you with watering and after care instructions based on your specific tree and the site conditions. Follow these directions as the success of your newly transplanted tree depends on it. Feel free to contact us at any time regarding any questions you may have.

Frequently Asked Questions

How big of a tree can you move?

As a rule of thumb a 90" tree spade can successfully move evergreens up to 25' tall and deciduous trees up to 9-10" in trunk diameter. Every tree and site (soil, terrain, sunlight) should be evaluated on a case by case basis. Just because you can physically move a tree does not mean the tree will survive. We always strive to give realistic expectations to our clients about their tree's condition and viability of the tree if it is moved.

What do you charge and what is it based off of?

Charges are based on a flat hourly rate/(time and materials basis). If a firm price for a job is need, a quote can be given. Contact ArborCraft and job costs can be discussed.

Will your truck damage my lawn?

A 90" spade truck loaded with a tree weighs over 40,000 lbs. Some ruts in the lawn should be expected. Plastic mats can be laid on the ground but often times there will still be a depression.

What type of warranty do you provide?

Trees sold by and fully installed (planted, soiled, mulched) by ArborCraft or to the standard of ArborCraft are covered by a (1) year warranty. Warranties start from the date of planting and covers dead trees/plant materials only. Visit the About page for full warranty information.
